July 4th Observations

As America makes preparations for celebrating the July 4th holiday, I'm troubled that "We the people" remain so disengaged from each other.

Politics, religion, business - too many leaders seek to divide the Country into red and blue states, "with us or against" us countries, "true believers" and "non-believers", and customer segments.

What is needed to move ahead together is a recognition that together everyone achieves more. TEAM USA.

Systems thinking, i.e., working to define and improve systems for healthcare, education, political activity, requires defining a common and compelling aim (which embraces the principle that everyone wins long-term) and defining cooperative interactions between the components of each system.

Getting people to work together for common causes will promote peace, prosperity and learning.
