What a pleasure to have spent time with Mizz and his parents for almost a week. As first-time grandparents, its a joy to experience his growth and development facilitated by the loving care and patience his parents provide.
Mizz continues to be a happy child fully into exploring new adventures while retaining and embellishing some favorite activities. Now that he is older (and taller) "lights on/lights" off can be self-actuated. He's also "grown" into "TV on/TV off".
And, in a few months he's gone from merely turning on water faucets to filling cups with water, transferring water from a small cup to a big cup and repeating the process.
Of course, a highlight was engaging him in play activities with grandpa and granny. We were delighted to see how happy Mizz was every time he saw us and how happy he was to play with us - building (and knocking down) Lego structures, reading, molding play dough, etc.
Can't wait for our next visit to Portland. Mainly to spend time with 3 wonderful people. But visits Powell's Books and the may fine local restaurants are wonderful activities, too.
Air travel between Harrisburg and Portland can bring some unexpected adventures. Flying home we spent time on the tarmac at O'Hare Airport while a thunder and lightning storm past by. Taking off after a nearly 2 hour delay, we flew over lightning strikes - an eerie but fascinating experience.
