Bringing Down the House

The Writers Guild of America strike, which lasted three months, seems to have ended. Like all strikes, there were winners and losers. Hopefully all parties involved can move forward in harmony and get about delivering interesting and informative TV Shows.

While Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert have done OK since returning with live TV shows in January, the return of their writers will help them skewer pretentious politicians and "talking heads" during the Presidential race.

I'm looking forward to the return of well-scripted and acted TV shows; perhaps most specifically House. Hugh Laurie is an amazing talent whose musical and acting skills are under-appreciated by most House viewers.

Here's an example of his talents, as demonstrated during an episode of Jeeves and Wooster. This BBC comedy brought to the screen the works of P.G. Wodehouse, which poked fun at British aristocracy.
