Obamamania

On Wednesday I met my friend Stu for lunch at the Cozy Inn in Thurmont, MD.

It was great seeing my friend of 40 years and sharing the experience of a fine lunch buffet. Every time I dine at the Cozy Inn I remember taking Franny and Sam there when they were children; they enjoyed making their own soft ice cream concoctions.

Anyway, on this visit something unusual happened. I wore my Obama for President cap, and a guy came up to me in the parking lot saying, "I'm a Republican from the 1st Congressional District in Maryland, and I want to shake your hand." I thought he was kidding, but he said he was really happy Obama won the election.

Imagine, we may be on the verge of having a president who's widely liked and respected.
