Try, Try, Try Again

The last few years have been tough for NYC sports teams ... and their fans. I should know.

So, the last few weeks have been rewarding for me as the young New York Giant team came together as a cohesive entity, won three play-off games (all on the road) and made it to the Super Bowl. In fact, the Giants set a record by winning 10 road games this year.

Appropriately for long-suffering fans of the team, it took three times for Lawrence Tynes, the Giants kicker to kick the winning field goal. The second missed kick (caused by a bad snap of the ball) came at the end of regulation.

But, a few minutes into overtime Tynes kicked the winning 47-yard field goal ... which happened to be the longest field goal kicked by a visiting team during a play-off game at Green Bay's Lambeau Field.

Perhaps the sub-zero temperatures made it harder to handle the old pigskin. I'm happy I got to watch the game on TV.

So, now on to the Super Bowl to meet (and hopefully beat) the undefeated New England Patriots.

Go Big Blue!
