The noted historian Douglas Brinkley has an interesting story about Bob Dylan in the May 14, 2009 edition of Rolling Stone magazine.
Noting that the dynamics of any of his songs might change from night to night during his tours, Dylan said, "As far as I know, no one else out there plays like this. Today, yesterday and probably tomorrow, I don't think you'll hear what I do ever again. It took awhile to find this thing. But, then again, I believe that things are handed to you when you are ready to make us of them."
Which is, perhaps, why reading a classical novel as an adult may provide more meaning than reading the same book in high school or college.
